Your partner in healthcare, Heidi Henson, DO, teams up with you to treat or prevent illnesses like obesity, diabetes and osteoporosis. An internal medicine physician, she helps you get more life out of your years – a better quality of life – as she treats every organ system as an integrated whole. Specialty training in osteopathic medicine lets Dr. Henson address the root cause so you can improve many symptoms at once. She looks forward to meeting you and helping you feel better.
Dr. Henson has the tools to guide you to better health. She uses a team approach and encourages you to be active in your own healthcare, putting the tools into practice to improve your symptoms and overall health. Although every issue cannot be addressed in a single visit, Dr. Henson is dedicated to helping you create a happier, healthier life, one visit at a time. Lifestyle habit changes can help stop metabolic syndrome from progressing, or even happening in the first place.
A native of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Dr. Henson has family spread from coast to coast, which is where her education carried her. Her desire to get to the root cause of illness and treat your whole person – mind, body and spirit – led Dr. Henson to pursue a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. She then completed residency training at Community Memorial Health System in Ventura, California. Dr. Henson did additional coursework in obesity medicine at Columbia University in New York City. She is triple board certified in internal medicine (American Board of Internal Medicine), osteopathic internal medicine (American Board of Osteopathic Internal Medicine), and obesity medicine (American Board of Obesity Medicine).
Dr. Henson models an active lifestyle with plenty of exercise, practicing classical ballet, walking her Siberian Husky, international travel and photography.
